Quality information in VO Catalogs

2MASS All-Sky Point Source Catalog

We use the quality information in the Qflg provided by the 2MASS catalogue in Vizier.

where the possible values are described as:

The Qflg is a 3 character flag, one character per band [JHK].

We consider A, B, C and D as good values, X, E and F as bad and U as upper limit. That is, for instance, for the second character (that gives information about the H band):

  • Qflg[2] ∈ (A,B,C,D) → 2MASS/2MASS.H: good
  • Qflg[2] ∈ (X,E,F) → 2MASS/2MASS.H: bad
  • Qflg[2] ∈ (U) → 2MASS/2MASS.H: upper limit
